By requesting access to a Virtual Private Server (VPS) through the Perkins Cybersecurity Educational Fund (PCEF), you agree to abide by the terms outlined below.
2. Acceptable Use
- Use is limited to educational and noncommercial research purposes.
- Prohibited activities include illegal access, hosting malware (unless for research purposes), and unauthorized distribution.
- Violations may result in immediate suspension or termination of VPS access.
3. Data Retention and Third-Party Access
- PCEF may retain access to deactivated VPS instances for up to 60 days.
- Access during this period is read-only and may be granted to authorized third parties for audit, research, or verification purposes.
- All access is logged and monitored to ensure compliance and accountability.
4. Data Privacy
- Personally identifiable information (PII) will be minimized or anonymized whenever possible.
- Complete removal of PII cannot be guaranteed; authorized third parties are contractually obligated to treat all data with confidentiality.
- All parties must comply with applicable privacy laws including CCPA, GDPR, and others as relevant.
5. User Rights
You may request early deletion of your VPS data or opt out of retention where feasible. Requests can be submitted via the contact form on our homepage.
6. Limitation of Liability
PCEF provides VPS services “as-is” without warranties. PCEF is not liable for data loss, service outages, or misuse of access.
7. Updates
We may update these terms at any time. Significant changes will be posted on this page. Your continued use constitutes acceptance.
